Owner & Designated Broker

Leah Crandell’s journey in real estate is nothing short of extraordinary. Her indomitable spirit and unwavering commitment to doing what’s right have set her apart in the industry. As a mother, Leah has raised two Marines and a microbiologist, demonstrating exceptional dedication and nurturing qualities.

Leah’s career in real estate began at just 17 years old when she fearlessly purchased her first home in 1994. Starting as a secretary at Eureka Realty, Leah absorbed the foundational knowledge of the industry. She quickly progressed, becoming a licensed agent at Buyers and Sellers Choice in 1995, where she proved to be an invaluable asset to the broker. After a brief stint at REMAX, Leah took charge, earning her broker’s license and returning triumphantly to Buyers and Sellers Choice in 1999 as the designated broker.

Juggling the responsibilities of raising three children in quick succession, Leah took a courageous step by establishing her own brokerage, American Discount Real Estate, in 2001. In 2009, she embarked on a new chapter in Pinetop, Arizona, launching Woodland Real Estate alongside a partner. Assuming the role of designated broker, Leah navigated a personal life change in 2010, returning to Tucson and starting anew. She excelled as an assistant escrow officer at Title Security, showcasing her expertise for a highly productive five-year tenure.

In 2015, Leah brought her expertise to Long Realty for two years,

specializing as a transaction coordinator. The pivotal year of 2017 saw Leah join Keller Williams, where she seamlessly juggled the roles of office manager and sales agent for a high-production team. In 2018, the team opted to make a transition to EXP Realty.

Frustrated with the structure and politics of major brokerages, Leah knew there was a better way. Clients deserved better treatment, and agents deserved nurturing.

Recognizing the imperative for a superior approach in the industry, Leah envisioned a real estate experience founded on communication, transparency, and integrity. This vision culminated in the launch of Desert Sunset Realty on July 13th, 2021. Here, she continues her legacy of delivering a real estate experience that surpasses expectations, ensuring that buying or selling a home is a seamless and empowering journey for every client.

Business Development

Matthew Crandell’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of resilience and unwavering determination. Raised by a single father, he faced life’s challenges head-on from a young age. At just 10 years old, the Crandell family experienced the heartbreak of losing their home—a pivotal moment that left an indelible mark on Matthew.

 

This experience ignited a fire within him, a determination to spare others from the same heartache. Matthew believes deeply in the strength of the human spirit, understanding that true worth is defined not by wealth or status, but by one’s ability to persevere. It was the support of those who had faced their own trials—the ‘have not’s’—that played a pivotal role in shaping his journey.

Matthew’s entrepreneurial spirit took root in 1993, at the tender age of 12, with the launch of Matt’s Professional Services. Undeterred by his age and the challenge of accessing a bank account, he persuaded a local check-cashing establishment to help him cash corporate and personal checks. This resourcefulness allowed him to build a strong presence within the local community.

 

His professional path led him through various roles, from automotive care to glass and glazing, and even vacuum and sewing repairs. This diverse experience culminated in a rich tenure at Cathey’s Vacuum & Sewing, where Matthew spent 18 rewarding years. Starting as a vacuum salesman, he ascended to the roles of Operations Manager and later, Vice President. This venture into the sewing and vacuum industry provided invaluable sales insights and training.

 

In 2022, Matthew embraced a new venture alongside his accomplished wife, Leah Crandell, at Desert Sunset Realty. Here, his mission is clear: to empower agents and ensure clients experience proactive and delightful service. Through coaching and counseling, he seeks to elevate the real estate journey for all parties involved. Matthew’s belief in integrity-driven sales and flexible schedules underpins his approach as a sales coach. Together with Leah, they are building a team of exceptional agents committed to excellence.

 

Today, Matthew stands as a steadfast advocate for homeowners facing challenges. His story reminds us all of the remarkable potential within each of us to rise above adversity and create positive change. Everyone deserves a home!
